Class Topics

  • Fieldwork - MEET AT COLUMBIA CEMETERY
    • Bring your plot data and be prepared to work with your group on your fieldwork project the entire class period.
    • I will bring two laptop computers with your plot data on each computer.
    • You will be asked to collect pace/distance information on a minimum of 15 graves tomorrow. You will enter this information and prepare a map on the laptop. This way you will be sure that your data collection method is correct.
  • I am going to be at the cemetery around 2:15pm tomorrow - so if you want to start early, I will be there to help. I need to leave at 5:30pm tomorrow because of another commitment, but your group can stay and work as long as you wish.

Class Assignments

  • Finish collecting field data and begin to process map
  • RESEARCH PROJECT- Due midnight, Monday, March 18-email (see below for format)
    • Next week we will work specifically on your research project. I would like you to email me a "working statement" describing your project. This should be at least a paragraph - although more is better!
      • What is your research statement/question?
      • What literature have you found to help you?
      • What methodology do you think you will use?
    • EMAIL your working statement to me using the following format:
      • Word file with the name
          • LastnameRESEARCH.doc
          • Thus my file would be called LudwigRESEARCH.doc
