Procedures for turning in your completed project

All Projects are due on Tuesday, November 3- 5pm.

[NOTE: KEEP A COPY OF YOUR COMPLETED PROJECT MATERIALS. YOU MAY WANT TO USE THEM IN YOUR PORTFOLIO (SENIOR SEMINAR).

ALSO, WE ARE EXPERIENCING SOME "DIFFICULITIES" WITH THE STABILITY OF THE DROPBOX SERVER. IF IT DIES IN THE NEXT WEEK, I MAY NEED FOR YOU TO RE-DROP YOUR MATERIALS IN ANOTHER LOCATION.]

Since this is a digital assignment, your project needs to be submitted digitally. The format for submission follows:

  1. Put your completed files (Photoshop file--psd and paper file--doc) in a folder.
  2. Name the folder using your last name.
  3. Inside this folder will be TWO (and only two!) files.
    1. One file will be your Land Use Map in Photoshop format. Make sure your layers are clickable. DO NOT FLATTEN LAYERS! Name this file using your last name: ie, lastname.psd. If your last name is Smith, then your map will be named Smith.psd
    2. One file will be your paper in WORD format. Label this file using your last name: i.e. lastname.doc. If your last name is Smith, then your paper will be named Smith.doc
    3. DROP THIS FOLDER IN THE 2840 DROP FOLDER NO LATER THAN 5pm on November 3. The drop folder is located at: \\as-spam\courses

NOTE: ALL PAPERS DROPPED AFTER THAT TIME WILL BE ASSESSED A 5PT/DAY "LATE" PENALTY.

Several computer related issues that arise every year.

  • The files won't open
  • I can't read the map and/or paper file
  • The file is infected with a virus
  • You lose your project because you don't have a backup
  • The disk with your files on it was destroyed because you....spilled beer on it.....the dog ate it....your kid brother reformatted it.....your girlfriend/boyfriend was mad at you and erased the files.....a roommate borrowed the disk and didn't return it....your computer "ate" it.....your backpack (and disk) were stolen .....you sat on it.
  • Your USB storage device was lost.....you left it in the back of a computer in a lab somewhere....
  • These all are reasons I have received over the years for late projects. I will be understanding....I will be compassionate....I will deduct 5 points per day for late projects.
